Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Illinois is hiring a Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver for local routes. The role pays $18.00-$20.00 per hour and is full-time, with a 7:30 AM-4:00 PM shift. Must obtain Non-CDL Class C and pass DOT screenings.

You will transport donations to and from destinations, provide courteous donor service, and adhere to DOT/OSHA rules while ensuring vehicle inspections and safe loading/unloading. Flexibility for varied shifts is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least two years of licensed driving experience.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently.
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army.
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully.
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors.
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher.
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code.
• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively.
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring.
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard.
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately.

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community.We're seeking a professional and courteous driver to transport materials to and from specified destinations. This role is essential in representing The Salvation Army while providing exceptional service to our donors and maintaining efficient operations.

Physical Requirements
