The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a professional Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver for local routes in Detroit. This full-time position offers hourly pay with CDL responsibilities on select routes.

Expect a 40-hour schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to keep donations moving efficiently. You will safely transport materials, follow planned routes, and represent the organization with courtesy and care to donors.

Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver (Local Routes)

Location: Detroit MI Pay: $18 - $23 per hour

CDL Pay: $22 - $27 per hour Job Type: Full-time Schedule: 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. We're seeking a professional and courteous driver to transport materials to and from specified destinations. This role is essential in representing The Salvation Army while providing exceptional service to our donors and maintaining efficient operations.

What You'll Do

Transportation & Logistics

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials
• Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Maintain equipment in excellent working order
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations
• Train and Certify New Production Assistants

Customer Service

• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code

Operations Support

• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately
