Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division in Davenport, Iowa is seeking a professional driver to transport materials to and from designated locations. You will represent The Salvation Army and provide courteous service to donors while supporting efficient operations.

You will handle transportation logistics, follow scheduled routes, perform vehicle inspections, and comply with DOT/OSHA rules. Training, teamwork, and a mission-driven environment are provided.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials
• Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Maintain equipment in excellent working order
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations
• Train and Certify New Production Assistants
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code
• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately

Job description

Location: Davenport, Iowa

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

What You’ll Do
