Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver for local routes. You will transport donations, operate company trucks, and uphold safety and customer service standards.

This full-time role offers a $20/hour pay, regular schedule Monday–Saturday, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, life, disability, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• At least two years licensed driving experience.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently.
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries.
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Train and certify new production assistants.
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army.
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors.
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher.
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code.
• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively.
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring.
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed.

We're seeking a professional and courteous driver to transport materials to and from specified destinations. This role is essential in representing The Salvation Army while providing exceptional service to our donors and maintaining efficient operations.

What You’ll Do

Transportation & Logistics

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials

Operations Support

• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately

What You Need

Required

Education & Experience

• High School Degree or equivalent
• At least two years licensed driving experience
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check

Required Certifications

• Valid Driver's License
