Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a professional driver to transport materials to and from designated locations at our Indianapolis store. You will represent the organization with donors and maintain efficient operations during pickups and deliveries.

Responsibilities include following routes, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, ensuring safety and compliance with DOT/OSHA, and using DSS and iPad apps for operation support.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials
• Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Maintain equipment in excellent working order
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations
• Train and Certify New Production Assistants
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code
• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately

Pay: $20.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday - Saturday
