Job summary

Evergreen Goodwill in Port Orchard, WA is seeking a Material Handler to unload donations and move goods to production areas. This role operates in an outdoor/warehouse environment with varying temperatures and some dust. Pay rate is $17.13–$19.00 per hour DOE.

The position is non-exempt with no experience required and a high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minor restrictions apply; forklift operation is possible if Seattle Goodwill standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• No experience required.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Remove and sort salvage material and garbage from salable goods.
• Sort donations into bins for further processing.
• Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor.
• Operate cardboard compactors and identify problems.
• Maintain donor tallies.
• Keep a clean work environment.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and report hazards.
• Build and maintain customer satisfaction.
• Forklift operation if certified to Seattle Goodwill standards.
• Minors cannot operate heavy machinery or compactors.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Communicate with others effectively, including those with limited English skills.
