Job summary

Goodwill is seeking a donation attendant to accept, sort, and organize donated items at our Altoona, PA locations. You will greet donors, issue receipts, and assist with unloading donations while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities include categorizing items, pricing per guidelines, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting truck loading/unloading. Some duties require lifting and standing for extended periods; training and background checks are provided.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• No experience is necessary.
• Must be able to obtain background clearances including Act 151.
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance and PA Criminal History Check will be paid for by Goodwill.

Responsibilities

• Welcome donors and provide receipts; assist with unloading donations.
• Inspect donations for safety and quality; reject items not meeting standards.
• Categorize items (clothing, furniture, electronics, household goods) for display.
• Assign prices according to Goodwill guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness in the donation area and organize stored items.
• Assist truck drivers with loading/unloading and prepare shipments.
• Follow Goodwill policies to ensure a safe environment for donors and customers.
• Operate a pallet jack if applicable and use timekeeping system to clock in/out.
• Complete required training and collaborate with store staff.
