Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is hiring a Retail Donation Attendant for our St Charles Store - Clay team. You will greet donors, assist with donations, issue tax receipts, and ensure donations are processed with care and according to guidelines.

The role requires good communication, organization, and basic math skills. You will help maintain store cleanliness, safeguard assets, and collaborate with team members to provide excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Excellent communication with customers and coworkers.
• Strong organization and ability to work with a diverse team.
• Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with their donation drop off, and offering thanks and any donation incentive and tax receipt.
• Handle all donations with care and respect.
• Sort donated goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, per guidelines.
• Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise/materials donated.
• Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the store area.
• Uphold store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and polishing surfaces.
• Build positive relationships with team members and leadership; work cross-functionally with other teams.
• Follow safe work practices and help keep aisles debris-free.
• Maintain a professional appearance per dress code.
• Safeguard agency assets from harm, report theft or loss.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
