Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a dedicated Donation Attendant for our Alameda thrift store. This full-time role involves managing the donation area, assisting donors with receipts, and ensuring paperwork is properly maintained.

You will sort donated items, help load donations onto trucks, and coordinate with supervision to maintain area security and supplies. A high school diploma and ability to follow written and verbal instructions are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Effective communication with management, coworkers, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean up the Donation trailer/pod area at shift start and end.
• Assist donors in receipts for donated items.
• Maintain reports and paperwork as directed by Supervisor.
• Sort donated materials into proper containers and stack as instructed.
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as needed.
• Inform supervisor of needed items (brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.).
• Secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at end of shift.
