Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Donation Attendant for the South Bay Thrift Store in Redondo Beach. You will assist donors, manage donated items, and help maintain a clean donation area, reporting to the Operations Manager.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, good communication, and the ability to follow instructions. Flexible scheduling and willingness to assist with loading donations are important.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy
• Courteously assist the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt
• Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor
• Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary
• Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
• Must secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift
• Must be have flexible availability for scheduling purposes
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
