Job summary

The Salvation Army LB Whittier Store in Whittier, CA is seeking a Donation Attendant to manage donor interactions and maintain the donation area.

You will assist donors, process receipts, sort donated items, and help with loading donations onto trucks; responsibilities include keeping areas clean and secure at shift end.

This entry-level role requires a high school diploma or GED, good communication, and physical stamina; flexible scheduling is available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy.
• Courteously assist the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt.
• Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor.
• Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor.
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary.
• Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.).
• Must secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
• Must be have flexible availability for scheduling purposes.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
