Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC San Jose seeks a Donation Attendant to assist donors, manage donations at the trailer, and keep the area tidy. The role requires neat appearance, reliable attendance, and courteous service.

You will process receipts, report supplies, and help loading donations. Full-time schedule includes varied shifts; physical tasks are part of the job, with emphasis on teamwork and adherence to dress code.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy.
• Courteously assist the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt.
• Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor.
• Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor.
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary.
• Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.).
• Must secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift.
• Must be have flexible availability for scheduling purposes.
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
