POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Nursing has 24-hour accountability and is responsible for the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/family and employee satisfaction. He/she is responsible for the overall operations, integration, coordination, and direction of nursing and patient care within the Facility. Additionally, he/she ensures that care delivery is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and policies of Reliant Management Group and in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations, and licensing requirements.

The DON participates in the Facility’s strategic planning and budget preparation. The Director of Nursing identifies and develops an effective leadership team to coordinate clinical, educational, and operational activities, ensuring the team has the required clinical expertise and certifications for the patient population.

POSITION RELATIONSHIP

Collaborates with all levels of unit nursing personnel, including the Director of Nurses, physicians, consultants, and the IDT in assessing needs and providing education to the facility.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, college, or university with a current RN licensure by the State Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of five years full-time or equivalent clinical experience, including at least two years in nursing supervision in long-term care.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to ensure patient and visitor safety.
  • Verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by law and facility policy.

  • Knowledge of elderly and/or chronically ill care needs.
  • Ability to teach adult learners.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to organize, analyze, investigate, and implement infection control principles.

  • Promote safety culture and participate in facility meetings.
  • Provide clinical leadership, including daily rounds and monitoring care quality.
  • Ensure compliance with care plans, physician orders, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and staff development.
  • Handle administrative responsibilities during weekends and holidays as needed.
