Job summary

The NYC Department of Social Services is recruiting five Social Workers to function as Domestic Violence Liaisons across multiple city work locations. Hours are 9–5 with flex. Center assignments include Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island sites.

You will assess DV victims, provide on-site counseling, safety planning, and referrals, and complete six-month case reviews while maintaining records. A Master's in Social Work and LMSW/LCSW license within one year are required.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessment to determine whether the client is a victim of domestic violence and the level of services they may require.
  • Inform referred clients about their rights and responsibilities for compliance and provide waivers to assist with safety.
  • Facilitate emergency safety planning for clients in a crisis, as necessary.
  • Provide on-site counseling services to clients, as needed.
  • Make appropriate referrals to DHS and other social service agencies, as needed.
  • Complete six-month case reviews to evaluate ongoing safety, assess current needs, and ensure the continuation of appropriate services.
  • Maintain case records for each client on the caseload with the required information.
  • Document other statistical and written records as required.
  • Provide coverage at other locations when needed.
  • Fulfill mandated reporter responsibilities by assessing client and family safety concerns.
