Job summary

Child and Family Services in Buffalo, NY seeks a Domestic Violence Housing Assessment Specialist to facilitate housing access through Coordinated Entry, perform assessments, and prioritize victims for housing resources. The role requires completing DV assessments, maintaining the Coordinated Entry list, and supporting the Rapid Rehousing team while traveling to community locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Social Work degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Local travel to community locations is required.
  • NYS driver's license and continued automobile insurance required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess clients to determine enrollment eligibility for DV housing services and HUD-defined homelessness category.
  • Complete housing and domestic violence assessment tools with clients.
  • Provide emergency safety planning and referrals to community services.
  • Maintain the Domestic Violence Coordinated Entry list for Erie County and update housing resources database.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with landlords and property managers for housing resources.
