Job description

Puppy Luv Pet Services is currently seeking a dedicated part-time Dog Walker/Pet Sitter to join our team in the Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, DC areas. This is an on-call position, with dog walkers responsible for providing daily exercise and walks for our clients' dogs, typically in 15 to 60-minute increments. In addition to walks, dog walkers may also be tasked with ensuring that each dog’s basic needs are met, including checking food and water supplies after exercise.

Other responsibilities include delivering marketing materials and refilling dog treats in Puppy Luv's contracted apartment communities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Pick up and drop off dogs from their homes.
2. Understand and accommodate special requests and conditions for each dog.
3. Walk dogs outdoors in all weather conditions (anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes).
4. Ensure each dog gets adequate exercise and potty breaks.
5. Maintain the safety of the dogs and people around them.
6. Remove pet waste responsibly.
7. Manage multiple dogs during walks, maintaining leadership and control.
8. Take photos of the dogs to share with clients.
9. Respond to inquiries related to your services and clients' dogs.
10. Record details of each walk, including duration and any abnormalities observed.
11. Occasionally provide house-sitting services as requested, depending on availability.

MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure home security during pick-up and drop-off.
2. Provide love and attention to each dog.

REQUIRED QUALITIES AND SKILLS
