Job summary

Biscuits & Bath Companies is seeking a full-time Dog Care Assistant to support a Dog Trainer in delivering training services at our New York location. Responsibilities include group classes, private lessons, and play sessions, with duties recorded in PetShop and client communications maintained.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and at least one year of professional dog-handling experience. Must own a mobile device and be able to work a varied schedule at 41 W 13th Street, NY.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working with and/or handling dogs in a professional setting.
• Must own an iPhone or Android device.
• Knowledge of Biscuits & Bath and genuine interest in dogs' well-being.
• Ability to learn about and understand each dog as an individual.
• Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• High degree of independent decision-making and problem-solving.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Physically fit to lift dogs 50 lb+, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Pass a thorough background check.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet savvy.

Responsibilities

• Perform New Dog Integrations, Behavior Evaluations, and Walk Assessments.
• Perform group classes, private lessons, and Train and Play Sessions.
• Follow up with clients on dog behavior details.
• Communicate dog behavior needs to staff.
• Train associates to recognize key dog behaviors for safety.
• Drive revenue from training services based on dog behavior needs.
• Document client communications and dog observations in PetShop.
• Learn communication techniques to advocate for clients.
• Study dog behavior using company library resources.
• Assist at off-site events.
