Job summary

Petco is seeking a dedicated Dog Trainer to enhance the bond between pets and their parents. You will conduct one-on-one training, lead group sessions, and provide personalized solutions for pets and owners.

The role includes participation in Petco’s Dog Training Instructor Program and collaboration with grooming and veterinary teams to deliver comprehensive care. You will guide guests in selecting classes and supplies, maintain training records, and uphold our guest‑centric service standards

Qualifications

• Passion for animal care and welfare.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with dogs of all sizes and breeds.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking ability.
• Flexible scheduling including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Familiarity with computer systems to manage records and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide world class dog training services and instructor program participation.
• Recommend and sell training classes, services, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of training sessions and progress.
• Collaborate with grooming and veterinary teams to support holistic pet care.
• Engage guests and guide them to merchandise and services based on needs.
• Ensure merchandise is stocked and presented to enhance the guest experience.
