Job summary

Digs Dog Care in Gladstone, MO is hiring a Dog Daycare Attendant to supervise and care for dogs in daycare and boarding contexts. You’ll maintain safety, cleanliness, and a welcoming experience while following protocols for feeding, health monitoring, and enrichment.

Ideal candidates love animals, stay calm under pressure, and communicate effectively with teammates and pet parents. Flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays is required; training and growth opportunities are available

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic dog behaviors and body language
• Familiarity with kennel operations and animal care
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to handle animals safely and confidently, including large/giant breed dogs
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions precisely (written and verbal)
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Remain calm with a pleasant demeanor
• Physically able to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand or walk for long periods
• Comfortable indoors and outdoors with dogs of all sizes

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all daycare and boarding dogs using proper handling techniques
• Monitor and address dog health and behavior; report concerns immediately
• Deliver a hospitality-first experience by engaging warmly with every dog
• Keep play areas clean, including cleaning up after dogs and using cleaning chemicals
• Follow all feeding, medication, and allergy protocols for every animal
• Sanitize bedding, dishes, toys, and accessories; restock supplies as needed
• Assist with lobby customer relations, informing and reassuring pet parents
• May assist with grooming tasks (bathing, brushing, drying) after training
• Support overall culture, pet wellbeing, and hospitality at Digs
• Work respectfully with teammates and maintain a positive, professional attitude
