Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of professional dog bathing experience.
• Must love dogs and be passionate about the work.
• Strong understanding of dog handling, coat types, and safety practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to stand for long hours; tubs have ramp access and hydraulic tables.
• Willing to learn Bowie standard systems and processes.
• Flexible and eager to grow with the brand.

Responsibilities

• Perform all bathing services from start to finish: bathing, brushing, drying, nail clipping, and dematting.
• Maintain a clean, calm, and safe work environment for dogs and teammates.
• Ensuring the physical safety of team members and dogs throughout service.
• Communicate with clients to understand preferences and provide educated upsells of add-ons and products.
• Deliver excellent service that makes every client and pup leave happy.
• Work efficiently and confidently, bathing 7–10 dogs per day while upholding Bowie standards.
• Support overall shop operations and assist with daily tasks as needed.
• This position may involve additional duties to maintain operational efficiency and security.

About the Role

We’re looking for experienced Dog Bathers to join our West Hollywood & Culver City shops where they will play a key role in shaping the future of the Bowie Barker brand.
This position is ideal for someone who loves dogs, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional care and results. You’ll work closely with our grooming team to ensure every pup leaves clean, happy, and ready for their close-up, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, communication, and service.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of dog handling, coat types, and safety practices

• Able to stand for long hours (no heavy lifting; all tubs have walk-up ramps and tables are hydraulic!)


• Someone who’s always looking to elevate their skills and grow with the brand


• Flexible and eager to learn the Bowie standard systems and processes, including safety protocols, quality expectations, service timing, and overall flow


• A positive, reliable, and coachable attitude; we care as much about mindset and consistency as we do about technical skill

Hourly Rate: $19.50–$20.50/hour (based on experience) + Tips
