Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer to join the NSWC Dahlgren Division team in Dahlgren, VA. You will design and maintain automated test scripts, write detailed test plans, and execute manual and automated testing across levels, collaborating with developers and government customers to resolve defects.

The role requires 2+ years of testing experience, Linux proficiency, and strong requirements traceability. U.S. citizenship and on-site work five days a week at NSWC‑Dahlgren are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software/systems testing experience or equivalent education.
• Experience running/writing automation scripts or code.
• Comfortable reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Proven ability to document, trace, and resolve complex software issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to present to customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing at multiple levels.
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools.
• Identify and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in Agile Scrum and CCB activities.
• Interface with government customers daily; present testing documentation as needed.
