Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a Test Engineer to join the NSWC Dahlgren Division on-site in Dahlgren, VA. You will design and maintain automated test scripts, craft test plans tied to requirements, and execute manual and automated testing across multiple levels, collaborating with developers and government customers to resolve defects.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in software testing, strong automation skills, and experience with Linux environments, DOORS traces, and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education
• Experience running/writing automation scripts or code
• Comfortablility reviewing C++ code
• Experience using Linux systems
• Proven analytical ability to identify and resolve software issues
• Experience linking requirements to test cases and managing test artifacts
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers
• Strong teamwork and ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, and system-level)
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and other tools
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities
• Interface with government customers daily; occasionally present testing documentation
