Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a System Administrator to support a government customer from Kihei, Maui. You will administer Windows Server and Linux (RHEL), manage core infrastructure services, and ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and DoD policies.

The role includes automation with PowerShell, support for VMware/Hyper-V/Nutanix, and collaboration with cybersecurity teams on ATO packages and audits. A DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II or higher certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a relevant field with five or more years of System Administration experience.
• DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+).

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) on DoD networks.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP across domains.
• Implement RMF security controls and DISA STIGs.
• Apply patches and updates per DoD policies.
• Harden systems and remediate vulnerabilities with ACAS/ARAD/SCAP.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate tasks.
• Support VMware/Hyper-V/Nutanix virtualization.
• Collaborate on ATO packages, POA&Ms, and audits.
• Maintain system documentation and SOPs.
• Participate in CCBs and CMBs.
• Assist incident response and system recovery.
• Support backup and disaster recovery with Avamar/BackupExec.
• Evaluate new DoD-approved tools; mentor junior staff.
