REIC Rentals is seeking an Equipment Mechanic for our Camas, WA shop, with occasional field service. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel and gasoline-powered equipment over 10,000 lbs, and performing preventative maintenance to keep the fleet operating safely.

You'll work in a fast-paced team environment, supporting major projects across North America. The internship offers hands-on training, safety programs, and opportunities to advance within the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing diesel and gasoline equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Must have a clean driving record within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline-powered equipment, primarily in the shop with occasional field service as needed.
• Service and operate a variety of equipment over 10,000 lbs.
• Communicate with customers and provide excellent customer service.
• Accurately identify and order required replacement parts.
• Manage inventory and monitor labor and parts costs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Complete required service documentation and recordkeeping.
• Evaluate repair costs versus equipment value when making repair decisions.
• Adapt to changing priorities throughout the workday.

DoD SkillBridge Internship: Service Technician SkillBridge Host Company: REIC SkillBridge Provider: Vets2PM LLC Location: Camas, Washington

REIC Rentals is hiring a courteous and detail-oriented Service Technician (a.k.a Equipment Mechanic).

Our ideal candidate has experience working on a wide variety of equipment (both diesel and gasoline), values safety, and enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with: Mechanic work on all types of equipment from gas to diesel vehicles, to general tool to dirt moving and ariel equipment, working outside in all types of weather conditions.

Training provided (in addition to OJT): REIC Rentals Safety, Equipment, and Process training.

About the Role

As an Equipment Mechanic, you'll primarily work in our shop performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel and gasoline-powered equipment over 10,000 lbs.

When equipment returns from the field, you'll inspect it for damage, complete necessary repairs, and perform preventative maintenance to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Occasional field service may be required as needed.

• Ability to work primarily in the shop with occasional field service.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Clean driving record with no violations within the previous three years.
• Personal hand tools appropriate for general equipment repair and maintenance.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more multiple times throughout the day.

Physical Requirements

Approximate percentage of the workday: Standing – 20% Walking – 70% Sitting – 10%

This position is classified as non-exempt.

If hired after the internship, target compensation is estimated between $52K - $82K per year, depending on many factors - this is just an estimate.
