Job summary

REIC Rentals is seeking an Equipment Mechanic for a DoD SkillBridge internship in Odessa, TX. You will perform maintenance and repairs on heavy diesel and gasoline equipment over 10,000 lbs, mainly in the shop with occasional field service.

Training, safety, and hands-on experience are provided as part of the role. You will inspect equipment, order parts, manage inventory, and ensure a safe, organized workspace while documenting services and costs.

Qualifications

• Technical repair knowledge across a wide range of equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
• Clean driving record with no violations in recent years.
• Personal hand tools appropriate for general equipment repair and maintenance.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel and gasoline-powered equipment, primarily in the shop with occasional field service as needed.

Job description

DoD SkillBridge Internship: Service Technician SkillBridge Host Company: REIC SkillBridge Provider: Vets2PM LLC Location: Odessa, Texas Applicants must be active-duty U.S. Military Members who qualify for the DoD SkillBridge Program.

Experience with: Mechanic work on all types of equipment from gas to diesel vehicles, to general tool to dirt moving and ariel equipment, working outside in all types of weather conditions.

Training provided (in addition to OJT): REIC Rentals Safety, Equipment, and Process training.

About the Role

As an Equipment Mechanic, you'll primarily work in our shop performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including diesel and gasoline-powered equipment over 10,000 lbs. When equipment returns from the field, you'll inspect it for damage, complete necessary repairs, and perform preventative maintenance to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. Occasional field service may be required as needed.

Physical Requirements

Approximate percentage of the workday: Standing - 20% Walking - 70% Sitting - 10%

This position is classified as non-exempt. If hired after the internship, target compensation is estimated between $52K - $82K per year, depending on many factors - this is just an estimate.
