About the Role:

As a Cybersecurity Specialist at Elevait Solutions, you’ll help protect our systems, data, and users. Your responsibilities include supporting risk management, monitoring threats, and implementing secure architecture practices across cloud and SaaS environments. This role is ideal for transitioning servicemembers with experience in information security, IT operations, or cyber defense eager to bring their skills to the civilian sector in a purpose-driven organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Monitor systems and networks for vulnerabilities, threats, and incidents
• Support the implementation of security best practices across cloud, endpoint, and SaaS tools
• Assist with audits, compliance checks, and policy enforcement (e.g., NIST, ISO)
• Manage user permissions, MFA policies, and access controls
• Conduct basic risk assessments and develop remediation plans
• Participate in incident response planning and post-incident reviews
• Evaluate and recommend security tools, updates, and configurations
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and engineering teams to promote a security culture

What You’ll Learn:

This internship is designed for transitioning servicemembers interested in cybersecurity, cloud security, or IT risk management. You’ll gain hands-on experience securing digital assets and supporting cybersecurity operations in a modern, remote environment.

• Cybersecurity fundamentals (CIA triad, threat vectors, defense layers)
• Security tools: antivirus, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, cloud IAM
• Risk management frameworks like NIST 800-53 and CIS Controls
• Secure configuration and access management in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Incident detection, response, and documentation workflows
• Remote-first security policies and SaaS protections
• Best practices for compliance, logging, and security awareness
• Supporting a security-first culture in a tech-enabled business
