Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join a dynamic agile team building a user application for a third-party hardware product. You will ensure product quality through manual and automated testing and contribute to test documentation and procedures.

The role requires a US citizenship and an ACTIVE Secret DoD clearance, with 5+ years in software testing. Strong scripting, testing, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and an ACTIVE Secret DoD security clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 4–8 years of related experience (will consider experience in lieu of a degree).
• At least 5 years of experience in software testing and/or software development.
• Experience with a scripting language such as Python and JavaScript.
• Experience in writing test procedures, defects and test reports.
• Proficient in manual testing, regression, and smoke testing.
• Familiarity with automated test tools on software projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Product Owners and software developers.
• Experience working in cross functional agile teams.
• DoD 8570 approved security certification (Security+ or CISSP) within 90 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Author and execute manual and automated test cases to ensure product requirements are met.
• Author and maintain tools, techniques, and practices for testing the product.
• Participate in agile planning events, analysis and design events, and reviews.
• Ensure quality checks and acceptance criteria are met before code merges.
• Report bugs and test results completely and promptly.
• Identify and document problems with program functions, outputs, screens, or content.
• Participate in product design reviews to provide input on requirements and potential problems.
• Write testing documentation and help finalize system and software documentation for the program.
