Job summary

FedTec is seeking a PC Systems Specialist to plan, design, install, and maintain personal computer systems on-site at JBLM Tacoma, WA. The role requires engaging with end users to determine requirements and delivering solutions through programming, COTS software adaptation, or hardware optimization.

The position demands DoD Secret or higher security clearance and a verifiable CompTIA Security+ certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Associate Degree with 7+ years.
• Experience supporting PC hardware, software, and peripherals in mid-to-large environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform planning, design, and installation of new and existing personal computer systems.
• Consult with end users to determine hardware and software needs based on operational requirements.
• Develop programs or customize commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software to meet identified needs.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, peripheral devices, and associated system software.
• Administer and maintain telecommunications protocols as required.
• Provide troubleshooting, diagnostic support, and resolution for hardware and software issues.
• Train and support end users in the use of computer systems, software, and hardware tools.
• Document system configurations, processes, and user instructions.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies regarding IT security and system access.
