Job summary

The Building People, LLC is seeking a full-time Security System Engineer to design, implement, and integrate cybersecurity solutions for DoD facility and OT environments. The role supports RMF activities and DoD compliance, collaborating with senior engineers, PMs, and field teams to deliver secure systems.

Travel to project sites is required, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, CS, or cybersecurity is expected. Background checks and clearance readiness apply.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and integrating IA solutions for CE, NE, and enclave environments.
• Hands-on support executing the DoD RMF to achieve IATT/IATO/ATO for FRCS or similar.
• Working knowledge of DISA STIGs and SRGs, secure baseline configuration, hardening, and logging.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows (ACAS/SCAP).
• Network security fundamentals for ICs, including segmentation and remote access.
• Familiarity with IC protocols like BACnet and Modbus.
• Ability to contribute to RMF artifacts (SSP/POA&M/SAR inputs).
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholder coordination.
• Willingness to travel to active project sites, including secure facilities.
• Meet DoDD 8570.01 and DoD 8570-M/IAT/IAM or IASAE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and integrate cybersecurity solutions for facility and OT environments.
• Support RMF activities and develop package content (SSP, SAR, inventories).
• Validate ports, protocols, and services; execute vulnerability management tasks.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, PMs, and field teams to deliver secure systems.
• Assist with secure configurations, segmentation, and DoD compliance.
• Travel to active project sites as required.
