Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned network engineer to design and implement DoD-oriented network solutions for both on-prem and cloud environments. You will perform site surveys, create structured network designs, and collaborate across IT, facilities, clients, and vendors to develop comprehensive implementation plans.

Requirements include 5+ years on DoD networks, DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II, and ability to travel up to 40% (CONUS/OCONUS). Security clearances are essential. HS diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DoD enterprise network implementation and engineering support.
• 3+ years with commercial hardware, networks, and cloud environments.
• 2+ years of network discovery and documenting system requirements.
• Experience with security, routing and switching protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, L3VPNs).
• Experience developing and executing test and implementation plans.
• Strong communication, detail orientation, multitasking, and prioritization.
• Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS up to 40%.
• Secret clearance.
• HS Diploma or GED.
• DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete site surveys and create structured network designs for voice, data, security, and AV systems.
• Design engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documents.
• Collaborate with IT, facilities, clients, architects, engineers, vendors to analyze requirements and develop designs and implementation plans.
• Implement final network solutions for on-prem and cloud environments.
• Produce documentation for network architecture and implementation.
