Job summary

NTT DATA, Inc. seeks a Network Engineer with a SECRET clearance to join our Norfolk, VA team. You will plan, design, and optimize secure DoD networks, configure routers, switches, and security devices, and ensure compliance with DISA STIG and RMF standards while supporting COOP/disaster recovery.

You will mentor junior engineers, liaise with government stakeholders, and implement robust network security across classified and unclassified environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline or 5 years substituting for a degree.
• Minimum 5 years of IT networking experience in a DoD environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with network security, firewalls, and security protocols.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Wireshark or similar tools.
• CCNA certification and Security+ CE certification.
• Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI eligible.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain networks including VPNs and routers.
• Create and update firewalls and security systems to protect data and communications.
• Monitor systems to improve network performance across environments.
• Troubleshoot and communicate networking issues to staff and management.
• Maintain knowledge of security practices and policy compliance (DoD, STIG, RMF).
• Work with cloud-based network services and support COOP/disaster recovery planning.
• Produce and maintain network diagrams and SOPs; guide junior engineers.
