Job summary

Leidos LLC is seeking a Network Administration & Operations Engineer to design, implement, and sustain the Rock Island Arsenal OTA Prototype network. You will lead integration of DoD and vendor technologies, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable communications across sensors, C2 applications, and cybersecurity appliances.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing, implementing, configuring, and administering enterprise or DoD network infrastructures.
• Experience installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and supporting hardware.
• Experience supporting network engineering across the system development life cycle.
• Experience integrating multiple hardware, software, and networked systems into secure enterprise or tactical networks.
• Experience troubleshooting connectivity, routing, switching, firewall rules, VLANs, VPNs in complex environments.
• Experience evaluating network performance and improving reliability, availability, and performance.
• Experience enabling interoperability among COTS, GOTS, and third‑party technologies.
• Experience collaborating with systems engineering, cybersecurity, and software teams to ensure readiness.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer 2/3 networking, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and network management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain the network infrastructure for the OTA Prototype.
• Lead integration of commercial, government, and third‑party technologies into a secure network architecture.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance and availability across lab, staging, and operational environments.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to support system integration and demonstrations.
• Implement and maintain secure network configurations in compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
• Develop network diagrams, implementation plans, baselines, and technical documentation.
• Provide hands‑on engineering support for demonstrations, assessments, and field installations.
