Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC seeks a Network Engineer to design and implement self‑healing networks for government and commercial clients. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners, perform on‑site and remote support, and ensure secure, scalable network deployments across multiple sites in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires DoD 8570 IAT II credentials and deep Cisco/Juniper and routing knowledge, with experience in firewall config and cross‑platform

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT II requirements.
• Experience designing and implementing self-healing networks.
• Expert understanding of Cisco and/or Juniper technologies.
• Expert understanding of networking protocols.
• Experience in cross-platform networking environments.
• Experience in setting up workstation, server, switch, and router configurations.
• Expert level experience in the configuration & operation of firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements self-healing networks.
• Documents the network configuration including documentation of maintenance procedures.
• Troubleshoots routing, switching and multicast faults.
• Configures and troubleshoots RADIUS, SYSLOG, NTP, OSPF, Auto-RP.
• Designs and monitors network load balancing, route cost patterns, overall system health.
• Identifies the need to upgrade or enhance network component capabilities.
• Hardens networking infrastructure as appropriate, balancing Availability/Integrity/Confidentiality.
• Resolves IAVA/STIG findings as appropriate, providing proper documentation and/or justification to A&A personnel.
• Provides on-site technical and operational support in installation and operation of telecommunications equipment.
• Conducts site surveys to determine feasibility of equipment installations.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Mentors other IT personnel as needed.
