Job summary

Amentum seeks a dynamic Network Engineer to support US PACOM J8 at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii. The role involves research, design, test, and evaluation of a warfighting network infrastructure, focusing on edge theater architecture and secure data flow.

The candidate will lead or participate in projects to optimize network performance, plan configurations, and ensure integration with the overall architectural vision. A strong DoD background and security clearance are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
• 5–7 years designing network infrastructure for large/complex networks.
• Experience with MPLS/VPN, SDN, and data centers (VSS/VPC).
• Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, QoS, and security practices.
• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize operational needs and develop technical requirements.
• Oversee network system configuration and plan new configurations for operations.
• Research, design, test, and evaluate new technologies and solutions.
• Design and implement LAN/WAN, SDN, and data communications networks.
• Lead design/engineering projects for experimental networks and assess performance.
