Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Joint Fires Network Engineer to support mission-critical defense communications and global network operations. This on-site role at Scott AFB, IL requires configuring, monitoring, and restoring secure services across complex transport and IP infrastructures to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for national defense missions.

The position demands 4+ years in network engineering, experience with Cisco/Juniper/MPLS/SDH, and active TS/SCI clearance with DoD 8570

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
• Active TS/SCI Clearance required.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations: configure, monitor, and analyze circuits across routers, switches, and optical transport.
• Perform real-time circuit rerouting and network restoration during outages and maintenance events.
• Collaborate with internal teams, government stakeholders, and engineering tiers to ensure maximum network availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network alarms using platform-specific tools and resolve incidents through full lifecycle management.
• Support change management activities including hardware replacements, software updates, and configuration adjustments.
