Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Joint Fires Network Engineer to support a Federal Program at Scott Air Force Base. You will execute network operations, configure circuits across optical/electro-optical multiplexers, and manage router/switch configurations.

Collaboration with internal/external customers and government agencies is expected to maximize network availability. The role requires DoD Top Secret/SCI eligibility, DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification, and the ability to work a 24x7

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience or equivalent
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) before start
• Able to work in a 24x7 shift environment
• Active DoD TS/SCI eligibility
• Experience with transport and IP network topologies
• Experience with circuit actions and vendor management
• Experience with Cisco/Juniper/MPLS/SDH/SONET environments

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations including configuration and analysis of customer circuits across optical and electro-optical multiplexers, routers, and switches
• Perform real-time circuit redesign to restore connectivity during outages
• Collaborate with customers, government agencies, and engineering tiers to ensure maximum network availability
• Monitor network alarms using platform-specific tools
• Handle change management tasks including hardware replacement and software configurations
• Document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions in incident management systems
• Assess and recommend resolutions for network incidents leveraging knowledge of networking and telecom systems
