Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support DoDIN-focused networks, with on-site work at Scott AFB, IL or Pearl Harbor, HI. The role involves hands-on network implementation, activation, and operational support to ensure DISA-aligned services.

The position requires DoD experience, active TS/SCI clearance, and DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification. Expect collaboration with solution architects and PMs to deliver secure connectivity for national defense operations.

Qualifications

• 2–8 years of relevant network engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 2–6 years with a Master’s degree.
• Experience configuring and supporting enterprise networks using Cisco and/or Juniper technologies.
• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols including BGP, ISIS, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, WAN, VPN, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
• Experience performing network configuration, testing, monitoring, performance management, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with DISA standards, Change Management processes, and DoD telecommunications concepts.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a technical team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a related technical field.
• Clearance: Active TS/SCI
• Certification: DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, and activation of network equipment supporting DoD networks.
• Coordinate customer activities including IT&A, service activations, and required reporting.
• Manage Service Orders and TSOs per Change Management procedures.
• Configure and implement network devices using approved configlets while validating customer requirements within DISN databases.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve network issues by collaborating with customers, solution architects, DISA PMs, and vendor SMEs
