Apex Systems has an immediate opening for an IT Desktop Support Specialist in Norfolk, VA. This onsite role supports one of our largest government clients, with a long-term contract and a day shift schedule.

Location: Norfolk, VA onsite. Pay rate: $26–$32 per hour. Candidates must have DoD-issued Secret clearance and CompTIA Security+ CE, plus 4–6 years of IT/desktop support experience to be considered.

Qualifications

• DoD-issued Secret security clearance is required.
• Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification is required.
• 4–6 years of IT or desktop support experience expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for laptops, desktops, peripherals, and software.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic Microsoft Outlook issues.
• Support Windows operating systems and Windows Server environments.
• Assist with Active Directory user accounts and permissions.
• Support basic networking, cabling, and office/workstation setups.
• Assist with testing and implementing IT solutions.
• Work independently with minimal direction and respond to end-user issues promptly.
