Job summary

KBR is seeking an Information Systems Security Specialist to support secure DoD information systems, focusing on RMF lifecycle activities, artifact development, and risk mitigation. The role involves coordination with engineers, program personnel, and government stakeholders to ensure compliant, secure operations.

The position requires DoD RMF experience, 8570/8140 baseline certs (Security+ or equivalent), and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ISSO, cybersecurity analyst, information assurance, or equivalent DoD responsibilities.
• Experience with RMF and Authority to Operate processes.
• Knowledge of DoD, AF, and NIST cybersecurity policies and guidance.
• Experience developing RMF/authorization artifacts (SSP, SAR, RAR, POA&M, etc.).
• Ability to communicate complex cybersecurity requirements in written and verbal form.
• DoD 8570/8140-compliant baseline certification; Security+ CE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of the DoD RMF lifecycle, including system categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain security artifacts: SSPs, SARs, RARs, POA&Ms, and related documentation.
• Assess and mitigate cybersecurity threats across the lifecycle.
• Plan and support certification and authorization activities, testing, and approvals.
• Provide cybersecurity guidance to development, test, and sustainment environments.
• Review architectures and documentation to identify cybersecurity gaps and mitigations.
• Coordinate security deliverables with government stakeholders and assessors.
• Support secure operation across SAP, SCI, Secret, and CUI environments.
