Tecolote Research, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Cost Analyst to develop life cycle cost estimates, support DoD/program budgeting, and deliver clear, data-driven analyses.

The role requires a math/engineering/economics background, 5+ years of cost estimating experience in DoD, proficiency with Excel, and the ability to communicate findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Sciences, Operations Research or related disciplines.
• At least five (5) years of experience performing cost estimating/analysis duties in the DoD/military arena, and three (3) additional years of related experience.
• ACEIT or similar cost estimating software experience is preferred (not required).
• Knowledge of the DoD PPBS, Army, is desired.
• Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail.
• Superior oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with coworkers, leadership, and external customers.
• Proficiency in Excel to produce graphs/tables, pivot tables, and calculations.
• Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop life cycle cost estimates (LCCE) / POE to determine total costs of assigned programs.
• Assist in development of P-Forms and RDTE (R-Forms), SPAR-POM briefings, and Army APBB briefs.
• Gather cross-functional responses to RFIs.
• Develop comprehensive presentations and communicate information effectively.
• Develop detailed cost estimates in support of forthcoming contract actions.
• Obtain cost data for a credible cost database.
• Review and integrate information for CARDs.
• Interface with Government Program Manager supporting all tasks.
• Provide responses to RFIs, supporting PEO, DASA-CE, and Congressional inquiries with concise documentation.
• Review, analyze, and develop cost estimates for studies/projects to inform budget decisions.
• Develop easy-to-understand presentations and communicate the information effectively.
• Work within IPT to gather cost/tech data.
• May lead or collaborate with agency/interagency groups.
• Additional responsibilities include contract Proposal/Technical Evaluation/Negotiation/Pricing support.
