Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a mid-level Cloud Engineer to support AI and cloud solutions for a DoD customer in Fairfax, VA. The role involves on-site work at the corporate office and potentially government locations, with duties across AWS GovCloud, Azure, and classified environments.

The candidate should have a solid cloud foundation, Linux administration, and automation experience, capable of independent tasks while collaborating with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• US Citizen as required by contract.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access eligibility and CI polygraph.
• 3+ years in IT infrastructure, systems admin, DevOps, or cloud engineering; 2+ years cloud experience.
• Hands-on with AWS; core services like IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, load balancing.
• Linux administration with patching, troubleshooting and hardening.
• Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible or similar IAC tooling.
• Docker and Kubernetes or equivalent container platform.
• Git-based workflows and CI/CD; GitLab preferred.
• IP networking knowledge; cloud security principles; logging/monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud infra and services in AWS and other clouds.
• Support Linux systems administration including configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and security hardening.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, CloudFormation and Ansible.
• Support containerized apps using Docker and Kubernetes, including deployments and networking.
• Support CI/CD and DevOps workflows using GitLab or similar tooling.
• Implement and maintain AWS services (IAM, VPC, EC2, S3, load balancers, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Lambda, RDS).
• Support cloud security and compliance activities (IAM, encryption, security groups, logging, vulnerability remediation).
• Troubleshoot issues across cloud, Linux, networking, and container environments; escalate as needed.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
• Collaborate with operations, cybersecurity, and government stakeholders to deliver solutions.
