Job summary

RTX is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to provide administration across Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux in a 24x7 environment. The role involves collaborating with cybersecurity teams, documenting complex IT solutions, and supporting engineers in a fast-paced setting.

The candidate should have a university degree or advanced degree with 2+ years of relevant experience and must be able to obtain interim U.S. security clearance. Travel up to 5% may be required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.
• Experience with developing solutions and documenting technical problems and their solutions.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
• Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
• Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within a reasonable amount of time
• Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
• Travel required as business needs dictate to other US domestic locations, up to 5% per year.
