WorkLlama, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Specialist to handle paper and electronic records across the site. You will edit, route, publish, and store documents while ensuring compliance with retention policies. Maintain EDMS and physical repositories and generate reports for site leadership.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, Library Science, or related field or 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Handle paper and electronic documents following established procedures.
  • Edit, route, publish, scan, review, catalog, classify, and store documents.
  • Maintain documentation within EDMS and physical repositories.
  • Apply records retention policies to site documentation.
  • Accurately enter and maintain data within document management systems.
  • Generate documentation-related reports and metrics.
  • Retrieve, file, and organize documents and records as requested by site personnel.
  • Manage document pickup and delivery across the facility.
  • Support ongoing document-control and records-management projects.
  • Ensure documentation is organized, accessible, accurate, and audit-ready.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle paper and electronic documents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Edit, route, publish, scan, review, catalog, classify, and store documents.
  • Maintain documentation within Merck-supported Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and physical document repositories.
  • Apply records retention policies and procedures to site documentation.
  • Accurately enter and maintain data within document management systems.
  • Generate documentation-related reports and metrics.
  • Retrieve, file, and organize documents and records as requested by site personnel.
  • Manage document pickup and delivery activities throughout the facility.
  • Support ongoing document-control and records-management projects.
  • Ensure documentation remains organized, accessible, accurate, and audit-ready.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science, Library Science, or a related field, or 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly:Microsoft Word

  • Experience maintaining both physical and electronic records.
  • Familiarity with records retention practices and document lifecycle management.
