Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Control product documentation including BOMs, Gerber Files, and Work Instructions.
  • Create and maintain product-specific documentation using data integration software.
  • Coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Document Change processes.
  • Ensure documentation compliance with industry and company standards.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation.

Skills

Understanding of Circuit Board design
Knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC, RoHS
Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred)
Familiar with CAD file management and assembly drawing software
Experience with data integration software (Aegis Factory Logix preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Education

Associates degree in Electronics, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field

Job description

Job Title: Documentation Control Specialist

Location: Batavia, OH

Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: Starting salary range will be $50k to $77k based upon experience; $500 hiring/retention bonus

Contractor Work Model: Onsite

Hours: M‑Th 6:30am – 4:15pm, Fri 8:00am – 12:00pm

Summary

This role is responsible for coordinating and maintaining documentation processes, including document control, product data management, and ensuring compliance with company and industry quality and manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities / Principal Duties
  • Control internal and external product documentation, including BOMs, Gerber Files, Assembly Drawings, Work Instructions, and Test Instructions.
  • Create and maintain product‑ and revision‑specific documentation for all manufacturing processes using data integration software, ensuring accuracy and data integrity. Responsibilities include assigning internal component numbers, drafting assembly drawings for manufacturing, and generating machine programming data from CAD files.
  • Coordinate and implement Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Document Change processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams to ensure documentation remains accurate, up to date, and compliant with industry, company, and customer requirements.
  • Organize new product kickoff meetings with process engineering, manufacturing leadership, and program management to review overall manufacturing processes.
  • Prioritize workload and manage product documentation releases to align with production build schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (IPC, ISO, etc.) and customer‑specific documentation requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation.
  • Contribute to the implementation and ongoing improvement of document control processes and systems.
  • Provide training and guidance on documentation practices as needed.

Qualifications
  • Understanding of Circuit Board design including reading component values, polarity, etc.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC, RoHS, and other industry‑specific compliance standards.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred).
  • Familiar with CAD file management and assembly drawing software, including AutoCAD, GC Prevue, and similar tools.
  • Experience working with data integration software (Aegis Factory Logix preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Education

Associates degree in Electronics, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent work experience may also be considered.

Experience

Five years of experience in a documentation or product data role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Physical / Cognitive Requirements

All work is performed in a manufacturing/office environment.
