TTUHSC is seeking a Documentation and Coding Auditor to support the billing compliance program by auditing and monitoring billing, coding, reimbursement, and documentation processes. You will partner with clinical and administrative teams to identify risks, deliver targeted education, and track corrective actions, while communicating findings clearly to leadership.
Travel to sites for reviews may be required.
The Documentation and Coding Auditor supports the billing compliance program by helping prevent, detect, and respond to billing, coding, reimbursement, and documentation risks. This role conducts proactive monitoring, auditing, education and risk assessment activities while also responding to identified concerns, audit findings, regulatory changes, and reported compliance issues.
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.

High School graduate or equivalency and five (5) years of medical billing coding and reimbursement experience of which one (1) year may be as a coding auditor. Additional job-specific education may substitute for the experience. Active professional coding certification from an accredited organization, e.g., American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Certification to remain current during term of employment. Knowledge of CPT, ICD-CM, ICD-10, and HCPCS nomenclature.

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
