Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Document Solutions Specialist & Copy Editor to support our legal teams across multiple locations including Minneapolis, Dallas, Denver, Florham Park, Philadelphia, Princeton, or Wilmington. The role involves creating, revising, formatting, and proofreading legal documents efficiently and accurately. This remote position requires residence near a firm office and work hours from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
  1. Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall quality.
  2. Create, revise, format, and transcribe legal documents, charts, spreadsheets, presentations, and diagrams using various software; generate tables of contents, authorities, and indexes.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair corrupt documents; manage mail merges and create electronic closing binders.
  4. Convert files across formats (PDF, RTF, Text, Word, Excel) using Nuance OmniPage.
  5. Create and modify PDF forms and legal documents using Adobe Acrobat, PDFDocs, and AIA software.
  6. Provide technical support on software issues and create event materials as needed.
  7. Collaborate with departments to ensure seamless project completion and monitor workflow requests.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field (preferred).
  • At least four years of experience supporting document creation and editing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat; experience with document management systems and image formats is a plus.
  • Excellent proofreading, grammar, and communication skills.
  • Legal firm experience is advantageous.

The initial hourly rate ranges from $32.67 to $36.51, based on experience and location, for a 22.5-hour workweek. Compensation includes benefits such as bonuses, insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
