Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center seeks a Document Imaging Coordinator to support the HIM system in a hybrid role during renovation. You will monitor the imaging system, troubleshoot issues, and provide user training and policy development to ensure smooth workflow with the Medconnect system.

You will collaborate with Information Services, manage queues, participate in testing and feature installation, and help maintain accurate electronic medical records access across departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• RHIT or RHIA credentials preferred.
• 3-4 years related experience in a medical records environment.
• Experience in automated HIM systems in a network environment preferred.
• Previous leadership and electronic medical record experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies system deficiencies, investigates difficulties, recommends corrective action or enhancements.
• Performs systems analysis and development related to the support of the Medconnect system.
• Maintains current working knowledge of HIM departmental applications and how they are used in department operations; serves as resource to management and staff.
• Works with other hospital departments to enhance operations and resolve barriers; participates in planning, testing, training, and installation of features and fixes to Medconnect.
• Directs and participates in system maintenance functions; daily monitors and manages all task queues including CER BATCH.
• Develops policies, procedures, and instructional materials for electronic medical records implementation.
• Maintains involvement with forms verification before Medconnect entry.
