Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in Health Information Management preferred or equivalent education/experience.
• Registered Health Information Technician preferred.
• Experience in hospital health information management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs deficiency analysis to ensure compliance with JCAHO standards, DOH regulations, and hospital policy.
• Indexes documents to the correct patient folder and assigns proper document names.
• Processes release of information requests for patients, attorneys and third-party payers.
• Scans and indexes documents within 24 hours of initial scanning and corrects any poor-quality images.
• Supports clinicians with questions regarding completion of deficiencies in the electronic record.
