Qualifications

• One year of experience in Health Information Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Makes rounds throughout the hospital to retrieve records from patient care areas.
• Follows document preparation procedures, ensuring documents belong to the correct patient and flags records not requiring scanning.
• Scans medical records, loose material, raw data, etc. for inclusion in the EHR according to QA procedures.
• Indexes medical records, loose material, raw data, etc. for inclusion in the EHR and audits scanned batches.
• Downloads/converts documents for importing.
• Maintains scanning equipment to ensure image clarity.
• Performs tasks within defined productivity and quality expectations to protect the legal medical record.
• Picks up, delivers, sorts, and distributes interdepartmental mail.
• Retrieves discharged Inpatient charts from the Inpatient Units as needed.
• Enters Release of Information telephone requests.
• Troubleshoots MyChart issues with parents and patients.
• Responsible for cross-training peers.
• Problem solves network issues with IT, Hyland, and Epic Teams.
