Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking a Document Controller to support complex construction and capital programs. This role will lead formal notice administration, document control, commercial records management, and related contract administration activities, while providing day-to-day direction to notices writers and staff.

  • 5+ years of experience in construction contract administration, document control, commercial administration, or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Legal Studies, or related discipline preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, formal notices, change management, claims support, and document control.
  • Experience leading or coordinating document control, notices, or contract administration teams.
  • Excellent written communication, organization, leadership, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead formal notice administration, including drafting, review, issuance, response tracking, filing, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain standardized processes for notices, document control, commercial correspondence, and records management.
  • Prepare and review formal notices, response letters, delay and change notices, claims correspondence, transmittals, and related communications.
  • Maintain notice registers and monitor contractual deadlines, outstanding responses, risks, and required actions.
  • Establish and maintain document control workflows, filing structures, naming conventions, version control, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate, traceable, and audit-ready commercial and contractual records.
  • Support change management, claims, schedule impacts, commercial issues, and contract administration activities.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Project Controls, Construction, Procurement, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and assign work to notices writers and document control staff.
  • Review team deliverables for accuracy, completeness, quality, and contractual compliance.
  • Identify and escape contractual risks, overdue actions, documentation gaps, and unresolved commercial issues.
  • Support audits, project closeout, handover, and records archiving.
